This month we will be discussing Camp Sylvania by Julie Murphy. Magnolia "Maggie" Hagen's dreams of attending a fabulous and famous performing arts camp this summer have just been crushed. Her parents inform her on the last day of school that they actually are sending her to fat camp, specifically the one run by Sylvia Sylvania, wellness influencer. Only, this camp is weird. The weigh-ins are humiliating, the workouts are exhausting, the campers are expected to donate blood, and the cafeteria only serves red food, following Sylvia's viral Scarlet Diet. Maggie finds the rules of the camp keep changing overnight and there might even be a camp ghost haunting her. Maggie is trying hard to ignore the weirdness for her parents and make friends, but then campers begin to go missing.
