Jitter Bot Workshop

In this hands-on tinkering class, kids build their own vibrating robot from scratch! Students will assemble a craft-stick frame, wire up a simple DC motor and battery circuit, and discover how attaching an off-center lid to the motor creates the fun motion that makes the robot jitter and skitter across the table. After adding personal touches like googly eyes and pipe cleaner arms, everyone takes their working robot home. It’s a relaxed, low-stress class where kids can explore simple circuits and practical tinkering at their own pace. (current STEM club Grades 3/5 year 1 – we will be doing this project in class) Weather Policy: We know that the winter months can bring bad weather. This class will be cancelled if the Jefferson City Public Schools have a late start or are cancelled. Missed sessions will be added onto the end of the session. Illness: We work hard to keep the germs away at LabSpace and ask that you stay home if your child, or someone in your household is ill. We offer many 1 session classes throughout the semester and will be happy to have you visit one of the those as a makeup for classes missed due to illness. Please note that we have teachers will immune issues. Event a small cold can be a big deal with a many week recovery.
