Randy Bacon, an award-winning Springfield filmmaker and photographer, will present and discuss "The Soft Surrender," a feature documentary he wrote and directed, Created in collaboration with the Hospice Foundation for Outreach, the film asks us to look beyond medical charts, machines, and systems and into the intimate relationships that shape the end of life. Through the voices of patients, families, loved ones, caregivers, and hospice professionals, the film opens the door to a new way of seeing--one that honors dignity, presence, and grace, even in the face of fragility. Rather than turning away from death, it invites us to look closer--and discover what it truly means for live. The library is proud to co-sponsor this showing with the Missouri Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
