Artists from near and far will gather to paint en plein air—the French term meaning “in the open air”—capturing the spirit and essence of Jefferson City’s landscapes, architecture, and community. Working outdoors with their subject in full view, plein air artists use natural light, color, and movement to create works that truly come alive. Throughout the day, you’ll see artists scattered at select outdoor locations around the city, competing for cash prizes.
