Based on the wildly popular novel by Stephen Chbosky, this poignant coming-of-age film introduces Charlie, a shy high school freshman, who's dealing with the insider-outsider culture of high school. He meets two charismatic seniors, who take him under their wing and help him through his struggles with friendships, first dates, parties, family issues, and other tricky passages of adolescence. The novel was named a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association, and the film was written and directed by the author.
