Saturday STEM Lab A 4-Part Fall Series for Grades 2–4 Looking for a fun, hands-on weekend activity? Saturday STEM Lab gives 2nd through 4th graders a space to explore simple machines, mechanical engineering, and beginner coding in a welcoming, low-stress environment. Highlights for Families: 1:1 Tech Stations: Every child gets their own laptop and LEGO® robotics kit during class—no waiting or sharing required! A Project to Keep: Every session features a physical engineering craft that students assemble and take home. Real Mechanics, Made Fun: Kids learn how gears, pulleys, and sensors work through active building and troubleshooting. Convenient Schedule: Meets once a month from late August through mid-November, wrapping up before the holiday rush. Fall Dates & Core Concepts Time: Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Tuition: $125 covers all 4 sessions, 4-H and Girl Scout Discount Price: $100. Aug 29 — Session 1: Pulleys, Belts & Direction of Motion Sept 26 — Session 2: Gears, Speed & Mechanical Advantage Oct 24 — Session 3: Cams, Levers & Rhythmic Motion Nov 14 — Session 4: Sensors, Energy Transfer & Automation Registration Details Who: Grades 2–4 Note: Laptops and LEGO sets are provided for in-class lab use. Kids construct and bring home a unique physical project after every workshop! Please note, these workshops begin before the mall opens.  Please park on the HyVee side of the mall between Ross and the Car Wash.  Come to the mall entrance nearest WiiPro – all other entrances will be locked.  If no one is there to let you in, just call (573) 645-0800.
